The best-selling Marpac Dohm-DS (formerly called the 980A) is often mentioned on our blog ... but today we're showcasing a different model - the Marsona DS-600A.

The Marsona model comes with six sound options, including the always popular white noise sound, and also has a timer option and a 4 Ohm speaker for acoustic clarity. "The sound is very comforting and I can get back to sleep right away ... I only listen to the white noise sound but chose this machine because of the built-in battery feature. I did notice that if my Kindle's G3 wireless is on it will sometimes create an interference noise - this is not a problem as it reminds me to turn the wireless off. Great little machine!"

New Name for the Marpac SleepMate 980A

One of our best-selling products, the Marpac Dual-Speed SleepMate 980A Sound System has just been renamed by the manufacturer.

The new model name will be called Dohm-DS ... it's got a new name, but it's still the same great product.

This white noise sound machine creates a soothing sound of rushing air that helps mask unwanted noise like traffic, snoring, etc. Not only does it serve as a "barrier of sound" but many offices use it to mask confidential conversations and protect privacy. It is our best-selling sound machine, and the feedback we've received has been incredibly positive.

So why the new name? According to the manufacturer, the new "Dohm" name was inspired by the dome shape of the unit. Having a more simple name also makes it less confusing for the consumer.

All of the features of the SleepMate 980A model have remained the same. The Dohm-DS still features 2 speeds, and the tone and volume can still be adjusted by moving the "cap" and the "collar" of the unit. It also still comes with a one year warranty.

The Marpac Dohm-DS is available for pre-order now, and is scheduled to ship from our warehouse on April 5th.
